The word Angel is derived from the Greek word "angelos" meaning messenger, and they are considered to be messengers of God. They have never incarnated and are simply spirit. The Archangels Metatron and Sandalphon are the two exceptions to this, having lived earthly lives.
Angels are always available to support and guide us. All we have to do is ask. They will not interfere with our free will so we do need to invite them to assist. Whatever your difficulty, you can request the Angels to guide you.
As well as connecting with your Higher Self each day remember there are many Beings of Light available to guide you. Angels and Archangels such as Michael and Raphael bring different qualities eg healing, peace, protection and inspiration. Ascended Masters such as Jesus, Kuthumi and St Germain are enlightened beings who desire to teach and inspire us to evolve along our spiritual pathway in the same way as they have.

Angel forms, gently swaying, Surround me with their love and light.
Angels sing, their voices saying, "Everything will be alright."
In my dark times I need not fear. Angelic help is always near.
